English star Matt Fitzpatrick has confirmed his participation in the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, taking place at The Belfry from August 20-24, 2025.

The 30-year-old will make his return to the Betfred British Masters, which he won in 2015, bringing his world-class talent to one of the DP World Tour’s most historic events. Fitzpatrick’s commitment adds significant star power to the field as the tournament kicks off the DP World Tour’s Back 9 and marks the end of European Ryder Cup Qualification.

Fitzpatrick’s stellar career includes nine DP World Tour victories and his maiden Major Championship at the 2022 U.S. Open at Brookline, where he became the first Englishman to win the title since Justin Rose in 2013.

The Sheffield native made his DP World Tour breakthrough at the 2015 British Masters, claiming his first victory at Woburn as the youngest player in the field, and will make his return for the first time since 2018.

“I’m delighted to be playing in the Betfred British Masters this year,” said Fitzpatrick. “The Belfry is such an iconic venue with incredible history, and having Sir Nick as host makes it even more special.

“This tournament has always held a special place on the DP World Tour calendar, and with it being the final counting event for Ryder Cup qualification, there’s added motivation to perform well. The Brabazon Course is a fantastic test of golf, and I’m looking forward to the challenge. Playing in front of home crowds is always something I relish.”

This year’s Betfred British Masters, hosted by six-time Major Champion Faldo, will be the final counting event for European Ryder Cup Qualification, adding extra significance as the race to make captain Luke Donald’s team reaches its conclusion.

Fitzpatrick’s participation strengthens an already impressive field as players battle for crucial Ryder Cup points, with skipper Donald already confirmed, alongside U.S. Team Vice Captain Brandt Snedeker and defending champion Niklas Nørgaard.

The Betfred British Masters has a rich legacy as one of the DP World Tour’s most historic events. This year’s tournament will be the DP World Tour’s 22nd event held at The Belfry, with the Sutton Coldfield venue first hosting the Lada English Golf Classic, won by the late Seve Ballesteros in 1979.
