- Continental Europe’s oldest national Open partners with FedEx Cares to plant 500 trees plus an additional 25 for each eagle made during the Open de France
- Trees to be planted on farmland just minutes from Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche in collaboration with the Arbor Day Foundation
The FedEx Open de France today announces the Eagles for Good initiative, engaging with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant at least 500 trees on local farmland near the tournament site in Versailles this coming October.
Continental Europe’s oldest national Open will take place from September 18-21, 2025, at Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche. The launch of the Eagles for Good initiative reflects the title sponsor FedEx’s commitment to engage its team members in local conservation efforts.
FedEx has committed to planting a minimum of 500 trees at a farm in Noisy-le-Roi, just a few minutes away from Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche. FedEx will also plant 25 additional trees for each eagle carded during the FedEx Open de France.
“FedEx engages thousands of FedEx team members each year in tree planting along with cleaning up local parks and waterways through our Picture Proof of Planting initiative,” said April Britt, Managing Director of Global Citizenship for FedEx. “We believe these acts of conservation can add up to make a big impact on the communities where we live and work, too.”
Since 2005, FedEx has supported hundreds of conservation projects around the world while mobilising thousands of FedEx team members to invest in their local community.
The FedEx Open de France is collaborating with the Arbor Day Foundation on the initiative, a global non-profit dedicated to inspiring people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. FedEx has been supporting the Arbor Day Foundation since 2014, planting and distributing over one million trees and through 165 projects on nearly every continent.
Katinka Dufour, Championship Director of the FedEx Open de France, said: “Our thanks go to FedEx and the Arbor Day Foundation for coming together and bringing the Eagles for Good initiative to life.
“The DP World Tour is committed to leaving a positive legacy and the planting of over 500 trees in collaboration with FedEx and the Arbor Day Foundation will have a meaningful impact on the Versailles landscape.”
“We believe trees bring people together to do great things and we’re glad to walk alongside FedEx as they embrace their role in local conservation,” said Dan Lambe, Chief Executive of the Arbor Day Foundation.
The trees planted through this initiative will help restore the landscape, increase the agronomic quality and structure of the soil, protect against erosion, improve the quality of the water, and enhance the land’s resilience to droughts and flooding.
The 2025 FedEx Open de France marks a new chapter in the tournament’s illustrious history, with Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche hosting the event for the first time after a 21-year stint at 2018 Ryder Cup venue Le Golf National. The celebrated venue, which previously staged multiple editions of the Seve Trophy, is renowned for its strategic layout and picturesque setting, promising a thrilling test for the world-class field.
