Nicolai and Rasmus Højgaard will add further star power to the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo field when they tee it up at The Belfry from August 21-24, 2025.
The Danish twins, two of the most exciting young talents in world golf, will join an already impressive field for the first event of the DP World Tour’s Back 9, which includes Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald, 2022 U.S. Open Champion Matt Fitzpatrick, 2016 Masters Champion Danny Willett and American star Brandt Snedeker.

The 24-year-old twins have eight DP World Tour titles between them and both are dual members of the PGA TOUR after earning their cards through the Tour’s pathway. Nicolai’s last victory was at the 2023 season-ending DP World Tour Championship, a Rolex Series event, while Rasmus held off the challenge of Major Champion and home favourite Rory McIlroy to win the Amgen Irish Open in 2024.
Both men still hold hopes of earning a spot on Ryder Cup Captain Donald’s team for the biennial contest at Bethpage next month, with Nicolai having made his debut in the 2023 contest at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club and Rasmus currently sitting just outside the automatic qualification spots in seventh position.
Rasmus, who won the ISPS HANDA UK Championship at The Belfry in 2020, is hoping for one final push to earn an automatic spot on Team Europe.
“I’ve had a pretty consistent year on the whole and now I feel like I’m ready for a big push in the last few months of the year,” Rasmus said.
“I’ve got two weeks to force my way into those automatic spots so I’m going to do everything I can to get myself on that team. Playing in my home event and then at The Belfry, where I’ve won before, gives me a great chance to play well so hopefully I can put on a good show at the Betfred British Masters.”
Nicolai added: “I’m looking forward to heading back to the Belfry for the Betfred British Masters, which is always a great event.
“I feel like my form has been improving in recent weeks so I’m excited for this upcoming run of events to try and force myself onto the Ryder Cup team. I loved being part of the team in 2023 and it just made me hungry for more, so hopefully both Rasmus and I can earn a spot.”
The Betfred British Masters has a rich legacy as one of the DP World Tour’s most historic events. This year’s tournament will be the DP World Tour’s 22nd event held at The Belfry, with the Sutton Coldfield venue first hosting the Lada English Golf Classic, won by the late Seve Ballesteros in 1979.
