Italy’s Molinari, who won The Open in 2018 at Carnoustie Golf Links, will make his return to the Amgen Irish Open after a ten-year absence and is looking forward to teeing it up in one of the DP World Tour’s most historic events on the Back 9.
“I am very excited to play in the Amgen Irish Open at The K Club this year,” he said. “I have not played in the event for ten years but it is a huge tournament and one that everybody always enjoys.
“The K Club is a great venue with so much history behind it, including the Ryder Cup, so it should be a great week. The Irish fans are so passionate and it gives us a boost inside the ropes when you hear the atmosphere.”
Eight-time DP World Tour winner Willett has lifted some of the biggest trophies in the game, including the Masters Tournament in 2016, the BMW PGA Championship, the DP World Tour Championship and the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The Englishman has four top tens in the Amgen Irish Open and is eager to put on a strong showing in Kildare next month.
“The big events just keep coming at this time of the year and they don’t get much bigger than the Amgen Irish Open,” he said.
“The turnout from the Irish fans is always incredible and I know this year will be no different. The field is shaping up to be really strong so I’m looking forward to a good test from the Palmer North Course, which is always a joy to play.”
Vegas will make his Amgen Irish Open debut in 2025 and is relishing the opportunity to return to the island of Ireland after finishing in a tie for 56th at The Open last month. He is a four-time PGA TOUR winner and has represented Venezuela at the Olympics twice, as well as becoming the first Venezuelan to play in the Presidents Cup in 2017.
“Having the opportunity to travel to Ireland and play in the Amgen Irish Open is really exciting and I’m so grateful to both Amgen and the DP World Tour for the opportunity,” he said.
“I’ve heard great things about the event and have witnessed how passionate Irish fans are when I’ve played in the Open Championship in the past, so to have the chance to tee it up in front of them again is really cool.”
American Gerard, meanwhile, claimed his first DP World Tour and PGA TOUR victory with a three-point win at the Barracuda Championship earlier this year, the only event which uses a modified Stableford scoring system, and is relishing his maiden trip to Ireland.
“Having the opportunity to play all over the world is amazing so I’m delighted to be able to head over and play the Amgen Irish Open,” he said.
“Winning my first event earlier this year has opened so many doors and I’m keen to play in different events and take in new experiences.”
The iconic K Club previously hosted the tournament in 2016 when 2025 Masters Champion McIlroy secured an emotional home victory, and when Vincent Norrman triumphed in the 2023 edition. It was also the stage for Team Europe’s triumph in the 2006 Ryder Cup.
