Tournament: Swiss Challenge

Félix Mory is a two-time winner on the HotelPlanner Tour after holding his nerve in a play-off to claim the Swiss Challenge title at Golf Sempach.
The Frenchman signed for a two under par round of 69 on the final day to reach 12 under par for the week alongside Spaniard Santiago Tarrio, before Mory birdied the first extra hole to secure victory.
Mory, who eagled the 17th hole to force his way into a play-off, climbs 43 places to sixth in the Road to Mallorca Rankings with a win, and was delighted to seal a first victory since 2021.
“I’m very happy,” he said. “It was such a tough day today. The course played really hard and it was very windy and gusty.
“I’m just happy the way I handled myself, and it’s a bonus to win in these conditions. I did a good job the whole tournament.
“The eagle on 17 was huge. I hit one of the best shots I’ve ever hit into there. I hit a two iron under the wind to two and a half metres and then rolled a good putt. At that point I started to think this could be the day.”
Mory started the day three shots off the lead but closed the gap with a birdie at the first hole, despite winds of up to 40 miles per hour blowing through Lucerne.
The Frenchman dropped his first shot of the day on the seventh hole but responded with a second gain of the day on 13.
Mory’s chances looked to have gone when he dropped his second shot of the day on the 16th, but an eagle at the 17th saw him set the clubhouse lead, before Tarrio responded with a birdie at the last to take it to a play-off.
Mory would go on to birdie the first extra hole, and says he felt calm despite knowing the significance of a win to his promotion chances come the end of the year.
“I don’t find play-offs too nerve-wracking,” he added. “My win in 2021 came in a play-off. I enjoy play-offs in a way. It’s fun, and you just try to do your best.
“The win is going to put me in a good spot in the Rankings. I’ve been out here a few years now and I know a win doesn’t guarantee promotion, but it proves that the work I’m doing is helping me move in the right direction. This win is confirmation of that.”
Overnight leader, Tobias Jonsson from Sweden, finished in third place on 11 under par alongside Norwegian Baard Skogen.
Englishman Will Enefer, Dane John Axelsen and American Matt Oshrine were two shots further back in a share of fifth.
The top five in the Road to Mallorca Rankings remain the same, with South African Daniel van Tonder retaining his place as the Number One. Skogen climbs to 16th with his third-place finish, with Tarrio up 51 places to 17th.
The Road to Malloca continues with the Raiffeisenbank Golf Challenge, taking place at Kaskáda Golf Resort in the Czech Republic from June 12-15.
