Englishman Matt Wallace will tee it up on home soil when he returns to the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo from August 21-24, 2025.

The 35-year-old won his fifth DP World Tour title at the Omega European Masters last year and returns to Europe with his sights set on securing a maiden appearance for Team Europe at the Ryder Cup, which is now just seven weeks away.

This year’s edition of the Betfred British Masters sits in a key position on the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai, marking the start of the Back 9 and the end of the qualification period for Team Europe, providing players with one final opportunity to earn an automatic spot on Luke Donald’s team for the Ryder Cup.

Wallace will return to the Betfred British Masters looking to continue his excellent record in the event. The 35-year-old, who is also a PGA TOUR winner having claimed the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship, has two top tens to his name at the Betfred British Masters, including a tie for second in 2018 and an eighth-place finish last year.

“The Betfred British Masters is a superb event and one that I always like to tee it up in if my schedule allows,” Wallace said.

“Sir Nick is somebody who I have always looked up to and his influence on this tournament is clear for everyone to see. I know this year’s event will be even better than last year and I’m looking forward to returning to The Belfry. It’s a venue I’m lucky to know well, the people there are great, and it continues to grow and grow.

“There is still so much to play for this year and starting an exciting run of events in Europe is something that I am relishing.”

The field for the 2025 Betfred British Masters is shaping up to be a real treat, with 2022 U.S. Open Champion Matt Fitzpatrick being joined by defending champion Niklas Nørgaard, Ryder Cup Captain Donald, and U.S. Team Vice Captain Brandt Snedeker, who makes his debut in the event. BMW International Open winner Dan Brown and 2016 Masters Champion Danny Willett, who is a former host of this event, will also return to The Belfry’s famed Brabazon Course.

The Betfred British Masters has a rich legacy as one of the DP World Tour’s most historic events. This year’s tournament will be the DP World Tour’s 22nd event held at The Belfry, with the Sutton Coldfield venue first hosting the Lada English Golf Classic, won by the late Seve Ballesteros in 1979.
