Ring-O ‘Floating’ target ring
We’ve all been told to imagine a dustbin lid around the hole to visualise a larger target when ‘lag’ putting. The ‘Ring-O’ is a training aid which allows you to carry a portable ring to provide a real guide when practising. It’s light and easy to transport.
Simply plug the three components together to create a circle ensuring the legs are in the same vertical position, then place the RING-O on the practice green so the hole is at its centre. Practice your long putts aiming to stop within the target. As the RING-O ‘floats’ the ball can pass beneath it giving a true measure of distance and accuracy. As the item is modular, you can add further ‘legs’ to make larger targets as required.
PurePutt – Adjustable putting gate
PurePutt from GrooveFix is the first adjustable putting gate on the market and we love it. Made from their trademark anodise aluminium, this is a sturdy gadget designed to last. Simply set the PurePutt at any measure between 50mm (1.97in) and 108mm (4.25in – the size of a regulation hole) and place on your chosen line. Practise putting through it from varying distances to get feedback on the club face angle, quality of strike at impact and putting accuracy. It comes in a presentation pouch with tees to peg it into the practice green.
Right Angle PRO – Putting training aid
This putting aid is great for use on the practice green or carpet at home so no matter the weather you have no excuses for not practising. Choose a ball bearing size (bearings are provided) and place them as pairs in your preferred set of holes dependent on the level of difficulty required. Balance the ball in the locator or on the putting surface and align the line on the ball with the laser engraved line on the device. Ensure your head is directly over the centre of the ball by aligning the dashed lines so that, when viewed from above, they touch the top and bottom of the ball. Using the square edge of the ‘Right Angle Pro’, align you putter so that it sits square to the device. Practice putting through the line of the ball whilst keeping the club head square. The ball bearings provide feedback on the accuracy of the putt i.e. a right handed player who pushes his or her putt will dislodge the ball bearing on the right, and a pulled putt will dislodge the left hand ball. We found it tricky at first but repeated use got us focussed and putting with greater accuracy.
MyLine – Putting guide line
MyLine is a simple way to improve putt alignment and ball striking.
Place the MyLine stakes in the turf parallel to one another so the elastic is closest to your stance. Tension the elastic line using the adjustable toggle. Once in position set the black nylon guide to the centre of your stance and then set the red guides to your preferred back lift and follow through. This will depend on the length of the putt and speed of the greens. The line above the putter and along the line of the putt helps you to visualise the putt. We used this in conjunction with GrooveFix’s Right Angle Pro product with excellent results.
Place the MyLine stakes in the ground parallel to one another so the elastic is closest to your stance. You will then be able to putt along your chosen line without any hindrance from the stakes.
