Kingsknowe Golf Club

Course Details

Stats:

Course Type: Parkland |  Length: 5,950 yrds |  Par: 69

Description:

Founded in 1908, Kingsknowe Golf Club has a custom-built golf clubhouse which dominates the magnificent vista formed by the approach from the course to the 18th green. With an elegant view across north east Edinburgh to the old and new Forth Bridges and the Queensferry Crossing, the clubhouse is home to around 650 members who have successfully married the traditions of golf with a welcoming outlook on what is required for a 21st Century club.

From 4 distinct but challenging par threes to dogleg par fours, Kingsknowe Golf Club offers a fair test of every aspect of a golfer's skills - whatever your ability level.

Originally designed by 1902 Open champion Alec Herd and later James Braid, the course is a parkland course laid out over gently rolling hills lined with cherry trees making it particularly inviting in the spring.

The course has two loops of nine from the clubhouse. The challenge is in finding and holding the well-guarded and relatively small greens. The course comprises several tough dog-leg par 4s throughout the 18, a James Braid design feature.

We extend a warm welcome to members and visiting golfers alike, with large parties and societies catered for.

"I write to compliment the club on our outing today. All our ladies complimented the excellent condition of the course. We had soup and sandwiches after the game and again the club catered so well for all the different dietary requirements. The tomato and red pepper soup was delicious despite the heat and we had a great selection of sandwiches. Thank you so much."

"On behalf of President Ian Sneddon and the members of the Society of Edinburgh and Lothians Golf Captains I would like to thank Kingsknowe for allowing us to hold our Summer meeting at your club. Although the weather was not very summer like the course was in excellent condition. We were made to feel welcome by all staff from Kingsknowe and I would ask if you could pass on our thanks the Council, the green staff, the catering & bar staff, the Professional and of course yourself and your team behind the scenes. Thanks again."

"A quick email on behalf of myself and the rest of the group yesterday to say a huge thank you for the day. The lady in the bar who served us from morning till afternoon was excellent and ensured all ran smoothly from the moment we got there to teeing off. The course was in excellent condition and one in which the lads were requesting to come back to in a year or so. Overall 11/10, and a huge thank you for arranging the day and to the staff for their efforts."
