The Duke’s is created from the beautiful, rolling landscape that forms part of the historic Mount Melville Estate in St. Andrews.
Steeped in Scottish history, the ancient estate lands were first established in 1698 for General George Melville of Strathkinness. Today, the natural heathland setting amongst the established trees, gorse and heather is just as cherished but now given over to a fresh and unique golf setting, first laid out and opened for play in 1995.
The panoramic views over the town of St. Andrews and the Bay beyond are stunning and summed up with typical Scottish modesty in the name of our 13th hole, simply “Braw View”. The thrill of the tactical design to offer risk-and-reward golf is subtly threaded through 18 holes to suit every level of golfer.
With a selection of tee lengths ranging from 5200 to 7,500 yards, it is a course that can be played and enjoyed by any golfer. Now a part of the prestigious collection of Kohler championship golf courses which includes Whistling Straits.
