Description:

Burntisland Golf House Club offers a golfing experience that is both challenging and enjoyable in equal measure. One of Fife’s hidden gems, this parkland par 70 course, with its elevated costal location, offers extensive views across the River Forth towards Edinburgh Castle, the Pentland Hills and the iconic Forth Rail bridge.

First surveyed by Old Tom Morris, the parkland layout of 1896 was designed by Willie Park Jnr, twice Open champion, and updated by James Braid in 1922

Consistently maintained to a high standard throughout the year, the course was awarded ‘Best Course in Scotland (2021)’ in its price category at the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards 2021. Visit the course and you will see why. Whether teeing off down the rolling fairways, chipping onto the immaculate greens or simply stopping for a moment to take in the stunning views, you will surely not forget your visit to Burntisland.

Every hole offers a different challenge: inviting fairways, deceptive greens, elevated tees, and even a quarry to carry with the drive. Novices should fear not though, a steady hand and confident swing will bag a par or even a birdie or two on this charming course.

Once your round is complete, a warm welcome awaits you in the traditional clubhouse. Full of character, the lounge offers good, locally sourced food, alongside all the traditional 19th hole refreshments.

There is a rich heritage about the club. Golf has been played in Burntisland since the 1680’s and Burntisland Golf House Club is home to the 10th Oldest Club in the world.

Packages for visiting parties are available priced from £50. All images courtesy of Mike Dooley Photography.
