Kirkistown Castle Golf Club sits close to the most easterly point of the island of Ireland along the edge of the Ards Peninsula. There is hardly anything separating the course from the Irish Sea. The area has the lowest rainfall in Northern Ireland and when this is combined with its free-draining sandy base, it delivers excellent playing conditions all year. The course measures at 6167 yards and is one of the only links courses in the nearby area. Kirkistown Castle’s signature hole is the par-4 10th, with out of bounds all along the left side and subtle bunkering on the right. If golfers manage to make it past the hazards, they are still playing to a small, elevated green that is bordered by gorse and rough. Kirkistown is home to lovely hospitality in the clubhouse where you can enjoy a meal overlooking the golf course.
