Featured Clubs - June

Each month GolfScotland.NET will be highlighting some of our featured golf clubs. Two of our featured clubs this month are two differing golf courses within the Argyle & Ayrshire region. They are: The Machrie Links and Helensburgh Golf Club.

You'll find a brief description of each club and a summary of the features and facilities on offer by each club, along with any special offers or society packages they may have at this time. Description:

The Machrie is an iconic Scottish championship links stretching to over 7000 yards from the back tees. An original Willie Campbell design dating back to 1891, it is now a masterpiece redesigned by DJ Russell and reopened in 2018. Among many recent accolades, it ranks inside the top 50 UK&I and top 20 in Scotland.

The perfect links terrain is set on unique dunelands bordering on the magnificent Laggan Bay in Islay.

Exceptionally maintained with stunning Hebridean views of ocean, the peaks of Beinn Bheigeir and the Paps of Jura, it will captivate all levels of golfer and will test every aspect of the game.

Description:

Golfers have been enjoying our beautiful moorland course above Helensburgh town since 1893 and we invite you to come and enjoy this destination course that no golfer should miss.

Despite being only 20 miles from Glasgow, our course is in a relaxing and tranquil setting with stunning views over the Clyde Estuary to the South and over Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park to the North.

The gently undulating terrain and varied layout is playable for all but a challenge for the best. To score well you will need to plot your way round and master our fast and true putting surfaces.

The club is easily accessible from the A82 and is an ideal stop if you are visiting the many attractions of the surrounding area or heading out to explore Scotland’s wonderful west coast.
